Starlet Program

Send the Orphans to School

Since 2006, at Sichuan Liangshan Prefecture impoverished regions of Butuo, Zhaojue, Jinyang, Meigu etc., in total, we had 10,000 sponsorships enabling orphans aged 7 to 11 from desolate backgrounds to go to primary school. Close to 18 million RMB was handed out in financial aid.

Worry Free Living

Prior to being admitted to the Starlet Class, the Fu Hui visiting team would go to each orphans’ home to verify his/her identity, members of his/her family and the financial condition. We sent the orphans from the mountainous regions who were deprived of care and the opportunity to go to school, naming it “Starlet Class". Most of the little orphans live in the distant mountains, several hours walking distance from school. "The Starlet Class" follows the standard education curriculum and utilizes existing dormitories. Fu Hui hires nannies to care for them. We cover their daily needs as well as insurance and medical expenses allowing the children to live without any worries while studying in school.

Quality Teacher’s Training

To ensure the quality of teaching, since 2007, in cooperation with the University of Hong Kong, Beijing’s Tsinghua University Department of Psychology and Sichuan’s Xichang College Department of Psychology, a seminar is held every two years on Children’s Psychological Counselling for the Starlet Class’s principal, teachers and nannies for them to gain further insights into the children’s psychology.

Currently, Fu Hui is supporting 24 classes with 1,232 students enrolled in the Starlet Program.
