  • Over the past decade , during the months of May and October, Fu Hui would organize trips for donors, volunteers and directors to visit the students to give the students encouragement.
  • We encourage our students to write to us throughout the year. Upon receiving the letters from the students, members of the Letter Writing Group would write back to them: in total 3,869 letters.
  • During the summer vacation, 35 volunteers took part in 508 segments of one-hour SKYPE sessions conversing with the students in English. These Skype sessions allow students in China to practise their conversational English.

Over
200
Chinese Canadian Students Exchange

In 2015:

  • An English Summer Camp was held in Liangshan for 200 students. There were two teachers from Canada and the United States and two from Hong Kong. There were also five students from Huili Experimental High School in Huili County, Sichuan, and nine students from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. They all volunteered their service.

  • Jointly with Centennial College in Toronto, we conducted the “Global Citizenship and Equity Learning Experience” initiative. Altogether, 23 students from Canada’s Centennial College, 50 students from the Girls’ Classes from the Jiaojihe district in Liangshan prefecture, 167 Starlets from Shaluo Xiang, 3 graduates from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies participated. This enabled the students to interact and learn from each other’s cultures.

Trained over 1,000 Teachers and Staff

  • In 2015,we made arrangements for over 100 Chinese teachers and nannies to be trained by the University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University and Sichuan University personnel. In the past ten years, over one thousand teachers and staff were trained. This enables them to gain further understanding of the children’s psychology to further improve the quality of education.
