What Makes Us Different

Equal Emphasis on Care and Donation

  • Right from the beginning, we place equal importance in solving the students’ financial problems as well as character building. To us, this is much more important than building schools.

  • Over the past ten years, we emphasise character building and moral development. Each year, our volunteers would visit the students at their schools to interact with them, to give them encouragement face to face and to help them overcome their inferiority complexes. All volunteers and directors of Fu Hui who participate in the trip bear their own expenses.

  • We maintain close communication with the students via correspondence, follow their development and provide them with support and encouragements.

Strict Monitoring of Funds Usages

  • All donations are used on the development, implementation and maintenance of educational or student supporting programs. We maintain a high level of financial transparency, and keep our administrative costs as low as practicable. Our director of finance and committee members are volunteers with expertise in the field, who monitor the investment and usage of our donations closely.

  • Working closely and in cooperation with the local governments and schools, our directors and volunteers would deploy personnel on scheduled visits to the various regions to moni- tor expenses, to understand the latest development and together with the local authorities deal with any crisis.

Holistic Education, Establish Oneself in Society

  • Fu Hui is concerned about our students’ future and hope that they can acquire a skill or trade to be able to establish themselves in society. The ones in senior high school will continue to receive assistance from Fu Hui. For others lacking academic qualification or aspira- tion, we would arrange for them to go into vocational training.

  • Set up The Fu Hui Alumni Association to provide a forum for the students to gain insights into work related issues and facilitate mutual help and understanding.

  • Encourage the students to be compassionate to the disadvantage members of society, and to participate in volunteer services in the community. Many of the Fu Hui students are actively involved in various volunteer activities both in the school and in the community.
