Our History

2004

Fu Hui Education Foundation was founded as a registered charitable organization with no political and religious affiliations.  It's' purpose is to assist the youth and children living in impoverished and remote regions of China gained access to comprehensive and quality education.  It was initiated by a group of compassionate and charitable overseas Chinese in Toronto Canada.  It started out by establishing  scholarships  and grants in Guangdon and various provinces to assist university and senior high students.

2006

Fu Hui began providing educational assistance in the poverty-stricken areas of Sichuan Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture  by opening Starlet classes.

2008 Due to the expansion of our educational assistance efforts, Fu Hui Education Foundation opened an office in Hong Kong.
2009 To combat the local tradition of favoring boys over girls in terms of educational opportunities, Fu Hui opened a All Girls Classes in Butuo.  This initiative was expanded to other provinces providing educational opportunities to the girls who have been forced to quit school in the past.
2012 As our subsidized student grow up, Fu Hui began providing subsidies to those junior high graduates to enroll in various technical institutes  to acquire the necessary skills or trade to enhance their chances of acquiring employment.
2015
  • Leveraging on our experience in education assistance, Fu Hui is participating in a Aboriginal Education Program initiated by former prime minister of Canada the Right Honorable Mr. Paul Martin in an effort to assist the underprivileged indigenous children of Canada.
  • In coping with the shortage of kindergarten teachers in the rural area resulting from the government's abolishment of the "One Child" policy, in cooperation with the kindergarten teachers' college, Fu Hui started subsidizing pre-school classes.
2016
  • Launched a nutrition project for Indigenous students in Hillside School located on the Kettle and Stony Point First Nation Reserve. It provides nutritious meals to the children during the school days.  In summer, a group of Indigenous students were invited by Fu Hui to visit the Chinese community of Toronto.  
  • Established Fu Hui Alumni Association to gather past Fu Hui sponsored students spread all over the country; to organize gatherings and volunteer activities for them, such as writing letters to current sponsored students, leaders in summer camps etc.    
2017
  • Collaborating with the Right Honourable Paul Martin’s foundation, Martin Family Initiative, Fu Hui raised funds towards the building of six school libraries in various First Nation communities across Canada.  The first library was opened in Alberta in November.
  • "Whole school Personal hygiene habit promotion" pilot project launched for Mu Er Xiang Public School.    
  •  Organized Art and English summer camps for the students in Liang Shan.
  • Fu Hui’s directors met in Shanghai for a strategic planning session to explore new opportunities for the next Fu Hui’s directors met in Shanghai for a strategic planning session to set down objectives and directions of the foundation for the next few years. 
2018
  • Approved by the Chinese government as an international charitable organization to operate in China.
  • The second and third libraries for First Nation communities were opened in June and November in Ontario and Nova Scotia respectively.
  • Partner with the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW) at the University of Toronto (U of T), to sponsor 30 students for their studies in the two-year Master of Social Work in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency program. 
  • Chief Executive Officer was appointed to manage the operations of offices in Hong Kong , Chengdu and Xichang and 6 sponsorships programs in China.
