All Girls Program

Let the Girls Go to School

The Yi’s traditional value of favoring boys over girls is a very serious problem. Girls are routinely stripped of the right to go to school and forced into early marriages. The enrollment rate of girls into junior high at the appropriate age is extremely low.  Fu Hui broke grounds in Butuo in 2009 by sending 43 girls to the first year of junior high enabling them to continue their education, proclaiming the slogan: "Let Girls go to School".

Admission criteria is for girls who are high academic achievers, and from rural or urban poor families.

From Grade 1 to Senior High

Fu Hui consecutively opened All Girls Classes in Guangxi and four other counties, from junior high to grade 12. For the junior high students, the government pays for their nine years of education while Fu Hui covers their living expenses. For the senior high students, in addition to their living expenses, Fu Hui also pays for their tuition.

Currently, Fu Hui is supporting close to twenty classes with close to one thousand girls en- rolled in the high school curriculum. In addition, in 2011, we added a girls’ class recruiting from grade one.

In seven years, Fu Hui has spent over nine million RMB assisting over 4,000 sponsorships for girls.
