Thousand Miles Apart, yet Our Hearts are Linked
Fu Hui Elite Class Visits

Between November 3rd and 11th, team members in charge of Fu Hui programs in Liangshan Education Foundation went to Xichang, Huili, Butuo, and Meigu to visit the schools with Fu Hui sponsored programs. The main purposes of the visits were to distribute supplies and letters to the elite classes students, play the video from Fu Hui’s donors, gave talks on themed activities, inspect the schools on the quality of the programs, and understand the character development and the activity launching statuses.

Online Chats with Fu Hui Board Members

Because of the pandemic, Fu Hui’s donors were unable to visit the schools in person this year.  Thus, at Meigu National Junior high school, the students and Fu Hui board members held an online Ding Ding chat during which the students shared their recent school life with the board members and expressed their best wishes.  The board members stated that even though it only lasted twenty minutes, being able to see the innocent smile on the students’ faces brought warmth to their hearts.

Broadcast of video greeting

Through a video greeting , the donors expressed how much they missed the students and that they are always on the donors' mind. The donors urged the students to take good care of their health and wished them advancement in their studies.  Seeing the familiar and kind faces on the video, the children’s eyes were filled with tears.

Distribution of Presents and Letters

During each visit, Fu Hui would always prepare presents for the students.  This time was no exception but these were distributed by the program staff instead of Fu Hui visit donors.  The students were pleasantly surprised upon receiving the presents.  In addition, Fu Hui wrote a letter to each class which were read out by the class representive.  The students also received letters written by volunteers addressed specifically for each of them. Those students who received letters were very happy and excited, expressing that they would write back very soon.

Every year Fu Hui persists in the letter writing tradition.  This helps to develop the students' writing and expression skills as well as building up a strong link with Fu Hui.

This Month’s Theme Activity

[Me and my Home Country] is this month’s theme for Fu Hui Elite Classes and is the topic of a writing competition.  The program committee explained the details of the competition, the requirements and prizes; and encouraged the students to actively participate.

This competition targets all Fu Hui Elite Classes students.  The aim is to promote the spirit and sentiment of patriotism as well as to improve their writing standards and abilities.

With the cooperation and assistance of the schools, teachers and students, the visits were completed smoothly; related tasks are also progressing well.  We believe the students of the Elite Classes will not disappoint the schools', their parents’ and Fu Hui’s expectations; will overcome all obstacles ahead and courageously strive for success.
