2019 May Visits and Scholarship Awards

A team of Fu Hui volunteers led by Vice Presidents Mr. David Leung and Mr. Michael Ma and CEO Ms. Lee Wing-sze arrived Xichang on 20th May, 2019 after a long journey from overseas.  Together with the staff from Fu Hui  Xichang and Chengdu office, they embarked on the trip to award scholarships and visit the Fu Hui sponsored students.This May trip lasted for thirteen days; visited over 5000 students in 20 schools in Huili, Butuo and Meigu counties and Xichang city.  

Hui Li Middle School

The first stop is Huili Middle School.  In this school, among those sponsored students, there is a group of starlets from Butuo county. After several years of hard work, these starlets transformed themselves from feeling inferior with below average academic standard to become confident and brilliant students The fluent English in their self introduction and the speech of the student representative impressed every Fu Hui Uncle and Auntie.

 

 

 

 

Schools in Xichang

The next stop is to visit Chuan Xing Middle School, Liangshan Minorities Middle School, Xichang College, Liangshan Minorities Teachers School, Yuelin Middle School and Luyin Middle School in Xichang.  The visiting team presented scholarship certificates, book report prizes to students;  held group discussions, answered queries puzzling young teenagers and played games with them.  They also organized celebration parties for the graduating classes.  All the students had looked forward to the arrival of the Fu Hui Uncles and Aunties and prepared gifts and performances  to welcome them.  The reluctant farewells left unforgettable memories for each Uncle and Auntie.
